How soon can I get the records I requested? Under Open Public Records Act ( OPRA ), the custodian of government records must comply with the request as soon as possible, but no later than seven business days after the request is received.
The Open Public Records Act (OPRA) requires records be provided in the medium requested, if the town keeps the record in that medium. If it does not, it must convert the records to the medium requested and then provide it. NJ. S.A. 47:1A-5(d).
Also, requestors may file OPRA requests anonymously without providing any personal contact information, even though space for that information appears on the form; thus anonymous requests are permitted. However, OPRA specifically prohibits anonymous requests for victims records.

A: When a request form is submitted, the custodian will determine if any prepayment is required. Paper copies of records cost $0.05 per letter-sized page and $0.07 per legal-sized page; however, the delivery and postage fees could be additional, depending on delivery type.
