The OQoL-7 assesses both importance of and satisfaction in seven QoL domains (Material resources; Close entourage; Social and cultural life; Esteem and recognition; Health and mobility; Feeling of safety; and Autonomy).
The MENQOL is self-administered and consists of a total of 29 items in a Likert-scale format. Each item assesses the impact of one of four domains of menopausal symptoms, as experienced over the last month: vasomotor (items 13), psychosocial (items 410), physical (items 1126), and sexual (items 2729).
Participants respond to each item on a 7-point Likert scale from 1 (absolutely untrue) to 7 (absolutely true), with item 9 reverse scored. An overall Life Meaning score can be obtained by summing responses to all 10 items (resulting in a maximum score of 70).
The OPQOL-BRIEF questionnaire has 13 items, with a preliminary single item on global QoL, shown below. This single item is not scored with the OPQOL; it is coded as Very good (1) to Very bad (5). OPQOL-Brief scoring: Each of the 13 items is scored Strongly agree=1, Agree=2, Neither=3, Disagree=4, Strongly disagree=5.
The OPQoL-brief comprises of 13 items which are scored Strongly agree = 1, Agree = 2, Neither = 3, Disagree = 4, Strongly disagree = 5 [22]. The items are summed for a total OPQoL-brief score, then positive items are reverse coded, so that higher scores represent higher QoL. The total sum-score ranges from 13 to 65.
