Ideally, children should attend every school day. Therefore 100% is the expected level, however, 95% is considered as good attendance.
Daily Attendance means the number of Participants who, during any one calendar day, attend the Center. This count is not dependent upon, nor does it include, the number of types of services a Participant receives, but is an actual, individual, and unduplicated census count.
The total number of days of student attendance divided by the total number of days in the regular school year. A student attending every day would equal one ADA. ADA is not the same as enrollment, which is the number of students enrolled in each school and district.
Regular attendance allows children to benefit from participating in quality early education. Research shows that students who miss too many days of preschool have weaker literacy and numeracy skills entering kindergarten.
