Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) Operators with BFM accreditation can operate under more flexible work and rest hours, allowing for (among other things) work of up to 14 hours in a 24-hour period.
Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) two-up - 24-hour periods can be counted forward from the end of any rest break because this option does not require a major rest break in a 24-hour period. A driver may be available to work for more than 12 hours (Std) or 14 hours (BFM) in any 24 hour period provided that the required minimum rest breaks are taken. In any 24 hour period a driver must have a minimum of 7 hours continuous stationary rest.
Night rest breaks are 7 continuous hours stationary rest time taken between the hours of 10pm on a day and 8am on the next day (using the time zone of the base of the driver) or a 24 continuous hours stationary rest break. Download a BFM daily work and rest hours planner for solo drivers.
