Runners have two options to cancel their registration: Online until 11:59 PM ET on Saturday, November 1, 2025 via your NYRR account. In person during the TCS New York City Marathon Expo presented by New Balance (October 30 November 1, 2025).
Online: Go to your NYRR account, logging in with your email address and password. Go to your dashboard and then the Registered Events section to view the status of your half-marathon registration and follow the process to cancel your 2025 entry.
All TCS New York City Marathon fees are nonrefundable, and you may not reenter the current years race after youve canceled your entry. If you cancel in a given year (and did not cancel the previous year), you are eligible for guaranteed entry the following year.
The real benefit is paying for all the other races too. So if you are not planning to run a few NYRR races in the coming year it will not be necessary to be q member. You will only save then the 5 for the bib thing and nothing else. I paid for it because I live in nyc and if Im not running the races I dont renew.
Cancellation and Guaranteed Entry Athletes who receive approval for a Pregnancy and Postpartum Cancellation may defer their entry to one of the next three (3) subsequent NYRR races for which they originally registered.

Should thunder and/or lightning present during an event, the event will be immediately cancelled and volunteers will be notified with instructions via email and text.
