An Ambulance Strike Team consists of 5 ALS Ambulances (2 personnel each) and 1 Leader in a separate vehicle. They are able to deploy in the state within a few hours and are self-sufficient in a disaster area for up to 72 hours.
Incident assignments will not exceed 14 days, excluding travel. There may be situations where life and property are so imminently threatened, or suppression objectives are close to being met, that an exception is necessary to smoothly allow for replacements.
An example of a Strike Team is a unit formed with four/five pumpers, Composites and /or water tankers that is to be deployed as part of bushfire response. is used for rapid response and is established to meet particular tactical needs.
A strike team consists of five of the same type of engine, either Type 1 fire engines to provide structure protection or Type 3 brush engines to assist with fire suppression in rugged terrain. In both cases, each engine comes from a different agency to minimize strain on resources.
An engine Strike Team is a specified number (5) and type of engines (Type I, II, III, or IV), assembled for a tactical assignment on an emergency. A Task Force could be any combination of engines, mixed with other types of suppression and rescue resources.
