The Cervical Dystonia Impact Scale (CDIP-58) is a disease-specific patient- rated questionnaire that measures quality of life in patients with cervical dystonia. 14 It was developed for use in clinical research, audit, and treatment trials.
The BAD Scale is a 5-point, criterion-based, ordinal scale designed to assess dystonia in eight body regions: eyes, mouth, neck, trunk, and the four extremities (see Appendix I). Raters score dystonia as none (0), slight (1), mild (2), moderate (3), or severe (4).
The scoring system developed by Tsui comprises a rating for sustained movement amplitudes, duration, shoulder elevation and, in addition, for dystonic tremor. The Tsui score is a brief and relatively simple rating scale specific for CD which can easily be implemented in daily clinical routine.
The TWSTRS scale is the most widely utilized rating scale for cervical dystonia. Individual subscales and the total TWSTRS score have been used as outcome measures in many treatment trials, evaluating BoNT therapy, pharmacotherapy and surgery 2258.
