Further adrenaline may be given if no response after 5 minutes. Transfer person to hospital for at least 4 hours of observation.
Call 911. Tell emergency dispatcher the person is having anaphylaxis and may need epinephrine when emergency responders arrive. Consider giving additional medications following epinephrine: Antihistamine Inhaler (bronchodilator) if wheezing Lay the person flat, raise legs and keep warm.
The National Allergy Strategy best practice guidelines for anaphylaxis prevention and management in schools and childrens education and care services recommends that ASCIA Action Plans are updated every 12-18 months when the childs adrenaline injector prescription is renewed, or their allergies are reviewed.
