TEACH Grant Service Obligation complete the required four years of teaching within eight years after you graduate from or otherwise cease to be enrolled at the institution of higher education where you received your TEACH Grants.
TEACH Grant recipients can receive up to $4,000 per year for four years as an undergraduate and two years as a graduate student. Due to federal sequestration, the maximum TEACH Grant is $3,772 for the 2024-25 academic year. For more information, sign up for a TEACH Grant Information Session.
A TEACH service obligation is a teaching service requirement set out in the Agreement to Serve and Repay (Agreement) that an individual must sign to receive a TEACH Grant.
To allow for the transition of the TEACH Grant program to StudentAid.gov, the processing of all TEACH Grant forms will be temporarily paused beginning May 1, 2024, and is expected to last into fall 2024. After completing the masters degree program, you must complete a total of four years of qualifying teaching service that will fulfill your service obligations for both programs.
