The Academies of Math and Science curriculum infuses critical thinking and mathematical skills into every grade level. Beginning in kindergarten, AMS students develop skills in number sense, algebraic operations, measurement, data analysis, mathematical thinking, and geometry.
Mathematics for Liberal Arts (MLA) courses are general education quantitative reasoning (QR) courses which provide mathematical skills and perspectives to empower students as they pursue their personal, academic, and career goals.
Mass Academy is highly selective in its admissions process, accepting approximately 50 students to the junior class each year from a pool of more than 150 applicants from as many as 119 different communities.
All applicants undergo a competitive admissions process involving the review of transcripts, teacher and counselor evaluations, student essays, and SAT or ACT scores. Historically, approximately one-third of applicants in any given year are admitted.
