4-H is the nations largest youth development program. Through local 4‑H programs, kids and teens learn valuable life skills and participate in project areas like health, science, agriculture and civic engagement.
No youth under age 8 (cloverbuds) may exhibit in a large animal 4H Youth livestock show. This includes horses, dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, steer, dogs, swine and goats.
Who can join 4-H? Any youth, 5 years old and in kindergarten through 19 years of age, may participate in the 4-H Program. The 4-H year begins in October with enrollment open to new 4-H families through April each year.
