Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a school, team, or activity shall forfeit all competitions, including honors resulting from such competitions, in which a student who participated in any fashion was recruited in a manner prohibited pursuant to state law or the FHSAA bylaws.
Participation in FHSAA athletics is a privilege, not a right, as determined by the courts. Home education students are given the opportunity to participate, but they must meet the same eligibility requirements as other students in public and private schools.
Under the current guidelines, private school students can only participate on public school sports teams if the private school has fewer than 200 students and is not already a member of the FHSAA. Get them involved, get them playing, get them in something.
The extent of competition can vary depending on local regulations, leagues, and agreements between schools. Some private schools may compete exclusively within their own league, while others may compete against public schools in interscholastic competitions.
Once you enter high school, your are required to maintain a cumulative 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 unweighted scale after completion of the first semester of 9th grade (FHSAA Bylaw 9.4).
