In order to audit a course, the Visiting Scholar fees for the semester have been paid. The Visiting Scholar must be able to participate from the first day of class and should complete the entire course term. The Visiting Scholar has discussed the audit course selection with the Director of LL. M.
In order to be registered for a course as an audit status, students must complete a Permission to Register for Audit form. Once signed by the instructor, the form must be emailed by the student to the Graduate School at gradinfo@uga.edu for review.
The main advantage of auditing a class is that no one has to simply take your word for it that you attended -- the class is a part of your official record. Having your transcript note that you took the class allows you to note t he course when you apply for some jobs, scholarships or graduate schools.
AUDITING A CLASS Log in to PAWS. Once logged in, select the menu icon at the top left of the page and select Registration Menu. Select Class Audit Request from the menu options and you will be taken to the Class Audit Request form. Select the applicable term and enter the CRN for the course you want to audit.
Departmental authorization is usually required to audit a class. This means you need approval from the department offering the course. In some cases, you may also obtain instructor permission or need consent from the instructor.
