A DSO may not refuse to transfer the SEVIS record of any student accepted by another school certified by SEVP for reasons that include, but are not limited to, financial or business reasons.

A designated school official (DSO) can submit a correction request to change the status of the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) record. The table below shows the types of status changes that can be requested through a correction request in SEVIS.
Regardless of which status the record is being changed to, remarks must be entered. Click the Correct SEVIS Status button to submit the status change. An Update Successful confirmation message will display in a new window. An automatic e-mail will be sent to the exchange visitor notifying them of the status change.
