(a) The Academic Senate shall consist of the President, Vice Presidents, Chancellors, Vice Chancellors, Deans, Provosts, Directors of academic programs, the chief admissions officer on each campus and in the Office of the President, registrars, the University Librarian on each campus of the University, and each person
The Academic Policy Committee formulates policies to provide guidance on relevant issues related to education programs and processes; student affairs, faculty issues and other academic and administrative issues. The committee reviews and recommends proposed policies for approval by the Council of Deans.
Academic Senate means an organization whose primary function is to make recommendations with respect to academic and professional matters. Academic and Professional matters means the following policy development matters: 1. Curriculum including establishing prerequisites.
The Committee on Teaching (COT) is responsible for the selection of the Distinguished Teaching Awards and the advising of the Division and departments with regards to policies that will enlarge possibilities for distinguished teaching and improve the quality of instruction, including methods of evaluation of teaching.
The CAP is responsible for the review of all significant personnel actions involving employees of UCLA holding academic titles. CAPs charge is to maintain standards and equity across the campus. CAPs role is strictly advisory, although its opinions, expressed in reports, are given considerable weight.
