A student may not request a start date that is more than 60 days after the students program end date. A student must complete all practical training within a 14-month period following the completion of study.
Although USCIS accepts OPT applications up to 60 days after the Program End Date, the latest a student can request an OPT I-20 from OIS is 45 days after they complete their degree program.
Material checklist A signed, dated copy of pages 1 and 2 of your new OPT I-20. Form I-765, completed and signed. Two color, passport-style photographs with your full name and date of birth written on the back in pen. Copy of the name photo page of your passport (including expiration date and any extension pages)
In 2-4 weeks, student should receive the Receipt Notice/I-797 Notice of Action from USCIS. In 90 calendar days or more, USCIS processes the OPT packet.
This is not necessary, just giving them info for any income you may have had. Other than that, you do not need to show any funds to be eligible for opt, so you should be alright.

Typically your OPT application will take 90 to 120 days to be processed by USCIS, but for a more detailed timeline for an OPT application and approval see Optional Practical Training (OPT). You must have your Employment Authorization Document (EAD) card before you can begin work.
You will need to assemble the following materials for your OPT application: A signed, dated copy of pages 1 and 2 of your new OPT I-20. Form I-765, completed and signed. Two color, passport-style photographs with your full name and date of birth written on the back in pen.
You can work on CPT either full-time or part-time. CPT requires a signed cooperative agreement or a letter from your employer. If you have 12 months or more of full-time CPT, you are ineligible for OPT, but part-time CPT is fine and will not stop you from doing OPT.
