All first-year students and 74 percent of all undergraduates live on campus. First-year undergrads live with roommates in close-knit residence hall communities of 50 to 60 students.

Graduate students are offered a limited number of Auxiliary-Housing managed apartments located on College Hill, ranging in size from efficiency apartments to four-bedroom apartments and houses.
We receive approximately three hundred and fifty applications each year, and are able to offer admission to only a select handful of prospective students. Our faculty weigh a number of factors when considering candidates. The department places the most importance on a candidates personal statement and writing sample.
Brown currently does not offer parking to undergraduate students. Undergraduate students with a disability who need parking should connect with Student Accessibility Services (SAS).
