The 105-Credit Rule Undergraduates must declare a major by the time they have completed five (5) academic-year quarters and earned 105 credits or a hold will be placed on their registration until they either declare a major, or meet with an adviser and receive a pre-major extension.
Program Information ACCESS students attend classes on an audit basis as a non-matriculated student. Auditors may not participate in class discussions, take tests, or submit papers. ACCESS programs are also available at University of Washington Bothell and University of Washington Tacoma.
To audit a class, you must usually get permission from the instructor.
Written permission from the instructor and approval from the Registrars Office are required to register to audit a class. Auditors are not allowed to register until the first day of the quarter, and the course must not have reached maximum enrollment.
For a reduced rate, members of the community can participate in the exciting learning opportunities at GW and continue their education by auditing in-person courses at one of our campuses. The application process for the Course Audit Program has been updated and streamlined.
