Students can work on campus only at the school that controls their SEVIS record. With a DSOs permission, students can work on campus at the transfer-out school until the transfer release date.
Transferring Your SEVIS Record to USC. Your F-1 SEVIS record must be transferred to USC before your USC I-20 can be issued. This type of I-20 is known as a Transfer I-20.
DSOs are encouraged to report (register) the student in SEVIS as soon as possible after the student reports to the school in F-1 or M-1 status. DSOs must report the student no later than 30 days after the Initial Session Start Date as listed in SEVIS.
How do I check-in to SEVIS? Log into your profile in Participant Portal. Click on Housing and provide your housing information. Please make sure that your address is correct and complete. Click on SEVIS Check In.
You must pay the I-901 SEVIS fee for each exchange visitor program you participate in.
