Auditions are required for students intending to enroll in Levels 1A through 3B of the ABT JKO School. These levels are for students ages seven to twelve with previous ballet training. Upon acceptance, students will be placed into the appropriate level by the Artistic Faculty.
Focus on the small things as much as big things. You should also hold your turnout and spot when doing any turns (such as detournes, pirouettes, fouettes, etc). You should ABSOLUTELY not be disruptive during auditions, like rolling of eyes, talking back, talking too much in general, and anything similar.
We offer all applicants a preliminary audition. We accept video auditions from international candidates who cannot attend an in-person audition in the UK. Students who are successful at the preliminary and semi-final stages will be invited to The Royal Ballet School in London for final auditions.
Choose a leotard that makes you feel confident Solid colors or subtle designs are best. Avoid excessive patterns or embellishments. Pink or flesh-colored tights Many advanced dancers choose to wear tights over their leotard in auditions. While this is not a requirement, it is an option if you prefer the aesthetic.
