Dismissed students are encouraged to use the appeals procedure if they feel their academic challenges are the result of extenuating circumstances that can be corrected with a strong plan for academic improvement or due to computational errors which brought their grade point average below the required minimum.
Students may change their program of study, including majors, minors, concentrations, and degree type, up to the completion of 75 semester credit hours earned (not including dual credit, Advanced Placement (AP) credit, or other college credits earned while in high school).
A student who wishes to appeal a first dismissal should contact the students assigned academic advisor or One Stop for processes and deadlines. Students subject to dismissal are not guaranteed readmission into UTSA.
Academic Dismissal You may petition for readmission only after sitting out the required time: First time dismissed- one semester (either fall, spring, or summer) Second time dismissed- one calendar year.
