The medical school application services only works from your official transcripts, which do not include your shadow grades.
You should ask for a letter of recommendation for medical school three to four months before the submission deadline. This gives you ample time to find a recommender, for them to write it, and for you to review it.
Electronic transcripts must be transmitted through our approved vendors, National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment, and Certree or sent via secure email from approved school registrars. The AMCAS program will not accept transcripts via fax.
Submitted to AMCAS Waiting for Transcripts: AMCAS has received your application. Required transcripts have not been received for review. Submitted to AMCAS Ready for Review: AMCAS has received a copy of all required transcripts and has placed the application in line to be reviewed by an AMCAS verifier.
We advise that you start requesting transcripts in late April. If you are a current student, you can wait for your final spring semester grades before having your transcript sent or you can send your transcript before you have a final grade.

As transcripts can take some time, the recommendation is to send transcripts as soon as AMCAS opens and you get your application ID and the request forms. I requested one of mine right on 5/3 and it still has not been received.
OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT And its fine to send transcripts even before you submit an application! However, before your transcript is actually sent, check it thoroughly to be certain that everything is as it should be: classes, grades, and credits, service hours, if theyre recorded, and SAT/ACT scores.
The undergraduate transcript is just the usual transcript that includes all the names of the classes you have taken and the grades you have achieved.
