Named in honor of Mildred Settle Bunton 32 and Calvin Hoffman Waller 04, recognized as Penn States first African American alumna and alumnus, Bunton-Waller awards are given to students who contribute to the diversity and inclusion initiatives at Penn State.
Discover Award Eligibility First-year, first-time undergraduate students must: Be admitted to Penn State. Enroll at a campus other than University Park or the World Campus. Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.
Award varies for first-year associate, first-year baccalaureate, and transfer students. All admitted undergraduate first-year students that are U.S. Citizens or permanent residents, excluding residents of Pennsylvania, will be automatically reviewed for the Penn State Discover Award through May 1 of each calendar year.
Full-time students in resident instruction (not available for World Campus students) who have the highest financial need are considered for the Bunton-Waller Scholarship. The annual award is $3200, renewable for up to four years, provided the student maintains a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
