The Training Grant Support Office (TGSO) supports Northwestern University faculty by: Preparation of institutional training grant applications submitted to the NIH, AHRQ, NSF, and other federal agencies. Tracking policies and policy changes for NIH and NSF.
The conference travel grant reimburses specific expenses related to conferences, symposia, seminars, or colloquia organized by professional associations within or related to the graduate students field of study or discipline, or a related field that may be conducive to their academic or professional development.
PhD students receive a TGS base stipend rate of $45,000 per year beginning on September 1, 2024 for any full quarters of funding, including student banked quarters or advanced student quarters.
If the applicants department cannot commit to providing support, the award application will not be approved by The Graduate School. TERMS OF THE AWARD: The Graduate School will provide 70% of the total expense, or $525.00 for domestic travel, whichever is less (up to $700 for international travel).
