Subrecipient (200.93): Subrecipient means a non-Federal entity that receives a subaward from a pass-through entity to carry out part of a Federal program; but does not include an individual that is a beneficiary of such a program.
In monitoring a subrecipient, a pass-through entity must: (1) Review financial and performance reports. (2) Ensure that the subrecipient takes corrective action on all significant developments that negatively affect the subaward.
Subrecipients are responsible for executing significant portions of the grant project. They contribute their expertise and resources to help achieve the projects overarching goals. Unlike subcontractors, subrecipients have a vested interest in the projects success.
Per 2 CFR 200.1, Subrecipient means a non-Federal entity that receives a subaward from a pass-through entity to carry out part of a Federal program; but does not include an individual that is a beneficiary of such program.
Subrecipient: A non-federal entity that receives a subward for the purpose of carrying out part of a federal award. The subaward creates a federal assistance relationship with the subrecipient. (See 2 CFR 200.93 . 330 (a) of the Uni- form Guidance.)
