The Log Book is a day to day record of all activities you did on your research project. It tells what was done, where it was done, and when it was done.
Although the ELD mandate covers the vast majority of truckers, there are exemptions that allow specific drivers to use a paper log. Here are the exemptions to consider: Eight days/month exemption. This applies to drivers who keep a record of duty status (RODS) for up to eight out of 30 days.
As specified in the ELD rule, the following are not required to use ELDs (but carriers may choose to use ELDs even if they are not required): Drivers who use paper logs no more than 8 days during any 30-day period.
