Deducting Levies From Your Employees' Wages If you have employees, you have to deduct ACC earners' levies from their pay, based on how much they earn. This is part of their PAYE deductions. The ACC earners' levy covers your employees for injuries that happen outside of work.

You can pay your levy in full as a direct debit on your due date, or in monthly instalments of three or six months. As a small business owner you'll pay an ACC Work levy each year which provides cover for you and your people \u2013 your most important asset. You'll also deduct the ACC Earners' levy from employees' wages. If you're a contractor or self-employed, you'll pay ACC every year, too.
