The project management lifecycle consists of four key steps: initiating, planning, executing, and closing.
The three project types relevant here are investment, organisational and innovation projects (often also called research and development (RD) projects). In an investment project, fixed assets are built that can be subject to tax-regulated depreciation after completion.
Types of Project Organizational Structures. There are three types of organizational structures in project management: functional, matrix, and projectized. Each project structure framework is determined by the authority, roles, and responsibilities of the team members within the existing organizational structure.
There are three broad categories of projects to consider: Strategic Projects, Operational Projects, and Compliance Projects (Figure 1.1). Strategic Projects involve creating something new and innovative.
