You can use the Guid parameter to uniquely identify a GPO. You can also refer to the Name parameter by its built-in alias, DisplayName.
GPOs are processed in whats known as an LSDOU order: local, site, domain, organization unit (OU). That means first, the policy on the local computer gets processed. This is followed by Active Directory policies from the site level to the domain.
I usually make a few simple recommendations when teaching people about GPOs: Dont disable GPOs. Do not use the Users or Computers folders that are right off the root of the domain. Dont mix AD objects in OUs. OU Structure is extremely important in regards to GPOs. Avoid blocking policy inheritance if possible.
GPO is a collection of Group Policy settings that define what a system will look like and how it will behave for a defined group of users. It is also centralized management functions of the Microsoft Windows family. They allow the management of computers and users in an Active Directory environment.
Right-click on the GPO you want to check out, and then click Check Out from the pop-up menu. Type a comment to be displayed in the history of the GPO (optional), and then click OK. When the AGPM Progress window indicates that overall progress is complete, click Close.

Capture information Open an elevated Command Prompt. ( Navigate to the users My Documents folder. Type the command gpresult /H GPReport. Open the generated html file in a web browser. You can see both the local and domain applied GPOs. Note the name and location of the applied Group Policy Objects.
2 answers Log on machine using Administrator. Open CMD (run as administrator). Type gpresult /r or gpresult /h C:\gpo. html and click Enter. Check which Group policy is applied to this machine by opening C:\gpo. html and checking Computer Details.
Group Policies, in part, control what users can and cannot do on a computer system. For example, a Group Policy can be used to enforce a password complexity policy that prevents users from choosing an overly simple password.
