KEITH CONNERS, PHD. This updated third edition of the popular Conners' Rating Scales sets a new standard for assessing Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and related learning, behavior, and emotional problems in children and teens.
It is a thorough assessment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and its most common comorbid problems and disorders. The Conners 3 typically takes 20 minutes and is completed by parents, caregivers, teachers and children aged eight years and above.
Rating scales will ask you to score behaviors, typically on a point scale of 0-3 or 4. Usually, 0 means never, and 3 or 4 means very often and the higher the score, the more severe the symptom. Each test has a different way of adding up the scores to determine the likelihood of ADHD.
A T-score in the “Elevated” range (i.e., 1.5–2 standard deviations above the mean) usually indicates significant concerns. A T-score in the “High Average” range requires careful consideration and clinical judgment, as this range is the borderline between typical and atypical levels of concern.
