To attain gold on the OPAT, the recruit or Soldier would need to achieve a minimum of 3 feet, 11 inches in the standing long jump; 11 feet, 6 inches for the seated power throw; 120 pounds for the strength deadlift; and a 10:27 minute mile over the course of 36 shuttles. -- White is unqualified.
OPAT is Outpatient Parenteral (also known as intravenous) Antimicrobial Therapy. This is a method of giving antibiotics and other similar medicines through a vein to treat infections in patients who are well enough to be discharged from hospital and can safely receive treatment in their own home.
The antibiotic is administered through a small narrow flexible tube called a catheter or IV line, which is inserted into a vein using a needle. The needle is removed, and the IV line is left in place and secured by a dressing.
Outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) refers to outpatient or community-based management of an infection via the administration of an intravenous (IV) antimicrobial without an overnight hospital stay. Patients may be managed without admission or may transition to OPAT following hospitalisation.
A minority (67; 15%) reported OPAT-related complications to be more frequent than five years ago. Although there is some variation, weekly laboratory monitoring was reported to be the most common practice for several common antibiotics (Table 1).

Intravenous (IV) antibiotic treatment can be given in the hospital, home or at a skilled nursing facility. When IV antibiotics are given outside the hospital, it is called Outpatient Parenteral (intravenous) Antibiotic Therapy, or OPAT.
The OPAT role provides specialised, highly skilled care to patients requiring intravenous antibiotics within the community setting, supporting community nursing teams to deliver IV antibiotics within the Community setting.
The OPAT consists of a standing long jump, seated power throw, 1-rep max deadlift, and an aerobic interval run. Performance on the OPAT is graded as black, gray, and gold, and qualifies you for MOS categories with physical demands rated as heavy, docHub, and moderate.
