By mail or by fax To print a form, go to Form RC1, Request for a Business Number and Certain Program Accounts, or, to order a form, go to Forms and publications. Fill in Form RC1. Once you have completed the form, mail or fax it to your nearest tax services office or tax centre.

Mail. You can also fill out Form SS-4 and mail it to the IRS to get an EIN. This process usually takes about four weeks, but it could be longer depending on how busy the IRS is. If your business is based outside the US or if youre working with a legal representative, mailing might be your best option.
The processing timeframe for an EIN application received by mail is four weeks. Ensure that the Form SS-4 PDF contains all of the required information.
