An address for service (also referred to as a correspondence address) is an optional second address a party can provide. The Office will send any post to that address. The notice of opposition has to be received by the Office in written form within the opposition period, namely within 3 months from the publication of the contested EUTM application. A notice of opposition may be filed by using the electronic form available in the User Area of the Offices website.
All Oppositions are filed through the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, an administrative court under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (as modified by the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Manual of Procedure, also called TBMP.
