Income from out-of-state municipal bonds would be included in the federal adjusted gross income, which is carried over to the Delaware return. Delaware has a graduated tax rate ranging from 2.2% to 5.55% on income under $60,000. The maximum income tax rate is 6.60% on income of $60,000 or over.
How is the tax calculated? The Earned Income Tax that is due is calculated as the product of 1.25 percent times the applicable wages or net profits on business income of the taxpayer.
All residents of the City of Wilmington are subject to the Earned Income Tax. The tax is payable on all earned income (whether derived from wages or business income) regardless of where it is you may work, whether inside or outside the City.
Delaware has a graduated state individual income tax, with rates ranging from 2.20 percent to 6.60 percent. There is also a jurisdiction that collects local income taxes. Delaware has an 8.70 percent corporate income tax rate and a state gross receipts tax.
