Purpose of the Committee The Education Committee has responsibility to provide guidance and oversight for the development of various SCRS educational activities, excluding Summits and regional symposiums.
The Curriculum Committee is a subcommittee of the Academic Senate and is a shared governance committee. The committee reviews and recommends course and program additions, revisions, and deletions and recommends policy related to academic offerings.
Functions of Curriculum Committee Identify curriculum problems, find solutions, and take corrective measures. Identify strategies to improve creativity and academic excellence. Enhance progressive growth of the Institution by adding and expanding courses and programs offered by the College.
Committees discuss, review and study certain issues within their jurisdiction and then take action, including recommendations to the Board. The Board relies on committees to do much of the groundwork for its ultimate decision making, which in turn may lead to the formulation, revision or redefinition of Board policy.
Overall, the main objective of the curriculum is to develop the overall personality of a child by including the subject matter that is for the overall development of students i.e., cognitive, affective, and psychomotor.
