Students with a minimum test score of 31 ACT or 1390 SAT and a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.50 are encouraged to apply for the University of Kentuckys competitive academic scholarships.
Students may or may not submit standardized test scores. To be eligible for this award students must have a 3.30 and 26 ACT/1230 SAT or 3.30 and 28 ACT/1300 SAT for traditional criteria, and 3.50 or 3.75 GPA for test-optional criteria.
The Scholars Program philosophy is to promote mastery of subject matter demonstrated through writing, exposure to research, critical thinking, and analysis. Scholars courses are taught by faculty that are highly recommended by their respective departments and their students.
The Legacy Tuition Program enables the children of graduates of UK who live out of state and meet certain criteria, including paid in full UK Alumni Association Life Membership, to attend UK at discounted tuition rates. This program is promoted by the UK Alumni Association but administered by the UK Scholarship Office.
The University of Kentucky offers renewable academic, competitive, and selective scholarship opportunities for incoming first-time freshmen. The Presidential Scholarship offers full tuition for students who are either Kentucky residents or non-residents.
