Getting into the University of Alabama is a tough task with the highly selective acceptance rate of 51 percent. Entering UAs online masters programs will require completing a four-year bachelors degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or foreign equivalent.
Regular Admission Grade Point Average (GPA): The applicant must have an undergraduate degree GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent) overall, or 3.0 (or equivalent) for a completed graduate degree program. Some programs may set higher standards.
University of Alabama 800-933-2262 (Lindsey Fincher, Admissions Counselor) 21 minimum ACT (990 SAT) with 3.0 OVERALL GPA, however all applications are considered on an individual basis. Writing portion of ACT is required. Algebra II required for admission. 1 yr Foreign Language required for admission.
Graduate students must maintain a minimum UAB cumulative GPA of 3.0. However, if a UAB department requires a higher GPA to continue in a program of study, that departments standards would apply for the purpose of SAP standards as well.
First-time/freshmen students with a 2.1-2.3 GPA with no test scores will be admitted under our Tier III admissions category, also referred to as the Summer Bridge Program. First-time/freshmen students whose cumulative GPA is less than 2.0 will not qualify for the test-optional or regular admissions policies.
