Employee tuition reimbursement is a company-sponsored benefit that covers some or all of the costs associated with an employees college coursework. In a reimbursement program, the employee pays for their courses upfront, and the employer pays back either a portion or the full cost upon completion.
To be eligible, an employee must be employed in a benefits eligible position on the first day of the semester for which the benefit is applied. Employees are permitted to take up to eleven undergraduate hours or eight graduate hours per term with supervisory approval.
The Dependent Tuition Assistance Plan (Plan) pays a portion of the instructional and general fees for an eligible employees spouse or unmarried dependent children who take courses at Ohio State. A dependent of one eligible employee will receive 50% off the cost of instructional and general fees.
The Faculty and Staff Tuition Assistance Plan pays the instructional, general and non-Ohio resident fees (up to 10 hours per term) for eligible employees who take courses at Ohio State. The benefit is available upon employment in an eligible appointment of at least 75% FTE. for complete information.
Faculty and staff The educational benefit is determined by the following criteria: Full-time, benefits eligible employees are eligible for one hundred per cent of the instructional fees and one hundred per cent of the non-resident fee (when applicable).
