Long-term payment plan (also called an installment agreement) For business taxpayers who have a total balance less than $25,000 in combined tax, penalties and interest from the current and preceding tax year.
The user fee for requesting an installment agreement using Form 9465 is $225 with payment by check and $107 with payment by direct debit from your checking account. To qualify for a lower user fee, you can request an installment agreement using the IRS Online Payment Agreement tool.
Use Form 9465 to request a monthly installment agreement (payment plan) if you cant pay the full amount you owe shown on your tax return (or on a notice we sent you). Most installment agreements meet our streamlined installment agreement criteria. See Streamlined installment agreement, later, for more information.
If you are an electronic return originator (ERO), you must mail Form 8453 to the IRS within 3 business days after receiving acknowledgement that the IRS has accepted the electronically filed tax return.
