If you are moving from one residence in our service area to another, simply complete the Transfer Service form. We will disconnect electric service at your existing address and have your service connected at your new address on the date that you request.
Its a good idea to notify your utility providers at least two weeks before you move. This will give them time to send you a final bill and shut off your services.
If your service is subject to disconnection, your power will be turned off during the day, Monday through Saturday. The disconnection process begins at 8:15am of the following day. Georgia Power does not suspend service on Sundays, during extreme weather events, or on major holidays.
If youre a new customer, all thats needed is your name, address and Social Security number (SSN), or a picture ID and proof of residency such as a phone bill.
Your deposit plus any interest will go toward your final bill. A refund check for the difference will be mailed within 30-45 days to the final mailing address of the individual whose name was provided at the time the account was opened.
