Graduation with University Honors To be eligible for undergraduate honors at graduation, a minimum overall grade point average of 3.5 for laude, 3.7 for magna laude and 3.9 for summa laude is required.
Undergraduate students who attain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher, with no grade of F, for all courses attempted while earning not less than twelve semester credit hours of academic coursework during the fall or spring term are included on the Deans List of Academic Honors.
Incoming freshmen are eligible for consideration if they have achieved one of the following: a composite SAT I score (Critical Reading + Math) of 1270 or above. a composite ACT score of 27 or above. graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school class. earned a 3.5 unweighted high school G.P.A.
Honors Thesis Format Title page. The title page should use the template provided by the Honors program and specified by the candidates college. Abstract. (250 words maximum) The abstract should be on its own, separate page. Introduction. Materials and Methods. Results. Discussion. Figures and/or Tables. Acknowledgements.
To qualify for these honors, students must meet the GPA requirements in both the SHSU and overall (transfer and SHSU combined) GPA. The distinction and corresponding grade point averages are: Laude3.50 to 3.66; Magna Laude3.67 to 3.85; Summa Laude3.86 to 4.00.
