The full range of regular grades is: A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, F. Only grades of A through F (including all plus and minus grades, such as B+ and B-) earned in any New York University course are computed in the average.
Pass/Fail Grades Students who fail a course receive a final grade of F. Credit is awarded for students who earn a P grade, but the grade is not included in GPA.
May I take a course pass/fail? Any elective course may be graded pass/fail. You are limited to one pass/fail course every semester, which is a maximum of 32 credits over four years. In practice, it is inadvisable to take too many pass/fail courses.
PASS/FAIL OPTION You may request to pass/fail a course through your CAS Advisor during the pass/fail request period as indicated on the academic calendar. After this deadline, you must petition for a late pass/fail through the Academic Standards Petition Portal.
