You can serve the opposing party by any of the means provided for under the AAA Rules. Specifically, notices can be sent by mail addressed to the party or its representative at the last known address or by personal service. In addition, you can send the demand by overnight delivery, fax, or email.
The Demand for Arbitration shall include the basis of the claim against the Respondent(s); the amount of damages the Claimant(s) seeks in the Arbitration; the name, address and telephone number of the Claimant(s) and their attorney, if any; and the name of all Respondent(s).
To file online, visit .adr.org and click on File or Access Your Case and follow directions. To avoid the creation of duplicate filings, the AAA requests that the filing documents and payment be submitted together. When filing electronically, no hard copies are required.
(a) A respondent may file an answering statement with the AAA within 14 calendar days after notice of the filing of the Demand is sent by the AAA. The respondent shall, at the time of any such filing, send a copy of any answering statement to the claimant and to all other parties to the arbitration.
