Voluntary Personal Leave Program (VPLP) Most permanent, full-time employees are eligible to receive an additional day of leave credit per month in exchange for a 5 percent reduction in pay.
VPLP allows eligible employees to receive additional leave time in return for a corresponding reduction in pay. The program is available to rank-and-file and excluded employees, and employees may voluntarily participate on a continuous basis.
A Leave Bank is a pooled fund of donated annual leave. Employees who want to join the Bank must make a minimum contribution of annual leave during a specified enrollment period. This pooled leave is then available to Leave Bank members, who are approved by the Leave Bank Board as recipients.
The Voluntary Leave Transfer Program allows a Federal employee to donate unused accrued annual leave to another Federal employee who needs leave because of a medical emergency. This program does not allow for the donation of sick leave, compensatory time, or credit hours.
LWOP is a temporary non-pay status and approved absence from duty that may be granted at the employees request. LWOP may be granted even if the employee has annual or sick leave in their accounts. The permissive nature of LWOP distinguishes it from absent without official leave (AWOL), suspension, and furlough.
