How do I renew my employment authorization card?

To renew your Employment Authorization Document, file Form I-765 at least 90 days prior to the expiration. You may file Form I-765 at the same time as Form 918, Supplement A, Petition for Qualifying Family Member of U-1 Recipient, or you may file Form I-765 later.

Can I work with an I-765 approval notice?

In these cases, your EAD is issued upon approval of your Form I-765, and the EAD is evidence of your employment authorization. For other categories such as parolees or individuals with deferred action, USCIS must first approve your Form I-765 before you are eligible to accept employment in the United States.

What if my employment authorization card has expired?

Renewing Your EAD If your work permit has expired, or if it will expire within the next 6 months, you can renew it by simply filing a new Form I-765. You will also need to pay a filing fee (as with the original application), unless youve applied for a fee waiver and have received approval.
