Navy COOL - USMAP Apprenticeships. The United Services Military Apprenticeship Program (USMAP) is a formal training program that provides service members the opportunity to improve their job skills and complete their civilian apprenticeship requirements while they are on active duty.
This enlistment program option enables men and women to eventually qualify for one of several Navy ratings (skill specialties) through on-the-job Airman Professional Career Track (PACT) training. The program also offers apprenticeship training in a rating that may not be available at the time of enlistment.
Registered Apprenticeship is an industry-driven, high-quality career pathway where employers can develop and prepare their future workforce, and individuals can obtain paid work experience with a mentor, receive progressive wage increases, classroom instruction, and a portable, nationally-recognized credential.
Youll join as either Able Rate or Probationary Leading Hand. Either way, theres a clear path for progression, so youll learn the ropes quickly. Your apprenticeship will take roughly 12-18 months to complete.
