The tax is 8 percent of the cost of the room rental and is not charged on any other services (room service, movies, etc.).

Lodging tax requirements vary by city, county, region, state, and country. Lodging taxes can be levied on the cost of the stay or a per night or per person basis.
HB 4146 (2016) increased the transient lodging tax rate from 1% to 1.8% for the period of July 1, 2016-July 1, 2020. On July 1, 2020, the rate decreased to 1.5%.
