Expenses reimbursed from an FSA cannot be claimed as a medical expense on your tax return.
Acetaminophen reimbursement is eligible with an FSA account, HSA or HRA. Acne Medicine such as Clean and Clear, Neutrogena, Proactiv, etc., is eligible. Acid controllers such as Tums or Prilosec are OTC medicines that are eligible with an FSA account, HSA or HRA. Activated charcoal is not eligible.
Ibuprofen is eligible for reimbursement with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), or a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA). Ibuprofen is not eligible with a dependent care flexible spending account (DCFSA) or a limited-purpose flexible spending account (LPFSA).
