The Oklahoma Corporation Commission is the public utilities commission of the U.S state of Oklahoma run by three statewide elected commissioners. Authorized to employ more than 500 employees, it regulates oil and gas drilling, utilities and telephone companies.
Three commissioners elected by statewide vote rule on all regulatory matters within Corporation Commission jurisdiction. Commission orders are appealable only to the Oklahoma Supreme Court. The Corporation Commission comprises three commissioners who are elected by statewide vote to serve six-year terms.
The Commission regulates a wide range of activities in four core program areas: oil and gas drilling and production; public utility and telecommunications; motor carrier, rail, underground natural gas storage and pipeline transportation; and petroleum storage tanks.
Brian Bingman was sworn in to his first term as Corporation Commissioner on January 13, 2025.
