Ohio requires 30 hours of continuing education to be completed every three years by the licensees birthday. The first continuing education due date for a new licensee is three years after the licensees first birthday following licensure. The 30 hours must include 9 hours in 3 separate mandatory core courses.
Each licensee below the age of 70 is required to take 30 hours of continuing education and submit their renewal form and certificates by their birthdate in their renewal year. Within their 30 hours, each licensee is required to take the following continuing education: 3 hours of Ohio Canon of Ethics. 3 hours of Core
Each active licensee is required to submit to the Ohio Real Estate Commission proof of completing 30 hours of continuing education every three years due on or before the licensees date of birth.
The costs of work-related real estate education are tax deductible as business expenses. However, the education only meets the requirements as a tax deductible expense when it: is required by law or regulation to maintain a professional status; or.
Under the new law, buyer agents are required to have a written agency agreement in place, including details about compensation, before they can conduct most real estate activities and transactions on behalf of their clients.
